Today’s lite chemical peels improve skin tone and texture and restore youthful health and radiance. These anti-aging skin peels feature a host of high-tech ingredients and rigorously tested techniques to rejuvenate lackluster skin, boost collagen and renew healthy cell growth.
Chemical peels have long been a staple for noninvasive resurfacing. For a short time, they took a back seat to other resurfacing procedures such as microdermabrasions and laser treatments. Now, they are regaining popularity due to their overall effectiveness and their ability to customize treatment. Chemical peels are one of the most requested services offered at ENZA Medispa. Combining laser treatments with a series of chemical peels between sessions, or microdermabrasions combined with chemical peels, can produce even more dramatic results.
The success of the peels has everything to do with the formulation of the chemicals and the ingredients used to boost their effectiveness. We take the peel to another level with special boosters to target specific concerns.
The following powerhouse ingredients may be added to your normal chemical peel to address key areas of concern:
Kojic Acid & Hydroquinone: Skin lightening gents used to bleach away sun damage, freckles and dark pigmentation.
Citric Acid: Vitamin C sloughs away sun damage, providing a youthful boost!
Glycolic Acid: The most common of alpha-hydroxy acids. Used to slough away the upper layer of dead skin cells, reduce clogged pores and smooth out fine lines. Glycolic acid also helps stimulate collagen production within the dermis.
Jessner Solution: The common name for a deeper peeling solution of lactic and salicylic acids. The solution is layered on the skin to treat acne, acne scarring and pigmentation irregularities. Aggressive peeling forms within 2-4 days. Results are visible with new, clearer skin within 7-10 days.
Lactic Acid: A gentle, natural alpha-hydroxy acid. It refreshes the skin from the inside out – giving the skin a youthful rosy glow. Lactic acid can be added to your normal peel or used at a higher percentage all by itself.
Salicylic Acid: A Beta-hydroxy acid used to dry up acne at its source. This also may be used alone or combined with other acid peels.
Hyaluronic Acid: A natural ingredient found in your skin, playing an important role in how your skin looks and feels. Hyaluronic acid retains water like a sponge, transporting essential nutrients to the skin’s viable cells. Combining hyaluronic acid with lactic acid gives dehydrated and aging skin a boost of energy and nutrition. The level of your peel will depend on how deep your skin issue lies. Generally, the more superficial the skin concern, the less aggressive the selected acid will be. Side effects to any of these peels may include inflammation. Always follow the post peel directions given to you by your skin care specialist.
