Hand Surgery

Dr. Clint Merrick, plastic surgeon, cosmetic surgeon and hand specialist treat patients with injuries, degenerative disorders and birth defects of the hand. Intensive training and continuing advances in hand surgery, including micro-surgery, have contributed to high success in the treatment of hand problems. The most common procedures in hand surgery include repairing injuries to tendons, nerves, blood vessels, joints and fractured bone. Hand surgeons may be called on to address and repair trauma caused by burns, cuts, and other injuries to the skin. Additional hand problems can include hand pain, hand injury, hand weakness, webbed fingers, finger nail problems, trigger finger, hand tumors and ganglion cysts.  Modern techniques have greatly improved the surgeon's ability to restore function and appearance, even in severe hand injuries.

Surgery can often restore a significant degree of feeling and function to injured hands. However, the recovery period may extend over many months and include the need for physical therapy to improve function.  Dr. Merrick’s primary clinic is located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  He also sees patients in Chippewa Falls, Cumberland and Rice Lake.
